The World No Tobacco Day 2017 celebrations at JMI New Delhi: Department of Public Health Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia celebrated World No Tobacco Day on 31st May 2017.

The aim was to spread awareness regarding the dangers of using tobacco and the health risks associated with it. The department organized many activities to mark this occasion. An exhibition was put up in the reception area consisting of various models and posters.

The interns gave health talks to the general public. Health education pamphlets and oral hygiene kits were also distributed among the people visiting the faculty. Dr. Abhishek Mehta, Head of the Department, felicitated patients who had quit tobacco use after receiving counseling from the Tobacco Cessation Clinic.

 JMI Also Conduct JMI Mass Communication Entrance Exam. Candidates can check all about JMI Entrance Exam such as application form, eligibility criteria, admit card, dates, selection process, result and much more.

A camp was organized at ‘Khushi- Home for street children’, an NGO in Mehrauli where free oral check up was conducted by the staff and interns of the department. They also performed a street play to spread awareness and information to the students regarding the detrimental effects of tobacco use.

Health talks were delivered and pamphlets were distributed among tobacco vendors in the university neighborhood briefing them on anti- tobacco laws. A panel discussion on tobacco was done by the staff members of the department, which was broadcast on Radio Jamia 90.4 FM.
